Ingredients
- Burger Ingredients:
- 4 Sara Lee® Artesano® Bakery Buns
- 1 pound Angus beef
- ½ pound chorizo sausage, crumbled
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 Egg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
- ¼ cup jarred roasted red peppers, chopped
- 4 lettuce leaves
- Green Chile Mayonnaise Ingredients:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoon lime juice
- 1 T Cilantro, chopped
- 1 small can Diced Chiles, drained
Directions
- To make the Green Chili Mayo, mix mayo, chiles, garlic, lime juice and cilantro in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- For the burger, preheat grill.
- In large bowl, mix beef, chorizo, salt and pepper. Shape mixture into 4 patties, 1/2 inch thick.
- Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 11 to 13 minutes, turning once, until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F. During last 2 minutes of cooking, top each patty with cheese and place the buns, inside facing down, on the grill to toast. Cook until the cheese is melted and the buns are toasted. Remove burgers and buns from grill.
- On each Artesano bun bottom, place a lettuce leaf and then a burger. Top each with a dollop of green chili mayo, diced red pepper, and finally the bun lid. Enjoy!
