Caprese Burger Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 Sara Lee® Artesano® Bakery Buns
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ tomato, cut into 4 thick slices
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoon pesto
- 4 ounces fresh Mozzarella cheese, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh Basil, chopped or whole
Directions
- 1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- 2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Add tomato slices (to marinate) and set aside.
- 3. In another bowl, mix ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and black pepper in a large bowl. Form into patties and place onto grill.
- 4. Cook patties until desired wellness, approximately 5 minutes per side. Remove burgers and set aside.
- 5. Spread pesto sauce on bottom of bun, then place burger patty on top. Layer on a marinated tomato slice, Mozzarella slice, and basil. Top with the bun lid and enjoy!
