Eggcellent Sandwich Recipe



  • 8 slices Sara Lee® Artesano® Smooth Multigrain Bread
  • 4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • ½ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2-3 pickles, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dill, chopped
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • Romaine or leafy green lettuce


  1. 1. Add to a medium-sized bowl red onion, celery, pickles, dill, mayo, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix until well combined. Add in chopped eggs and toss lightly. Taste and add a squeeze of lemon and toss again gently. Put mixture in fridge to chill slightly if desired.
  2. 2. To make the sandwich, on 1 slice of bread add some of the egg salad and top with a slice of lettuce. Add a second slice of bread and serve immediately.
