Pizza Pockets 3 Ways Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Sara Lee® Butter Bread
  • 3 Cheese Pizza Pocket:
  • ¼ cup marinara sauce
  • ¼ cup shredded Mozzarella
  • ¼ cup shredded Cheddar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
  • Meat Lovers Pizza Pocket:
  • ¼ cup marinara sauce
  • ½ cup shredded Mozzarella
  • 9 pepperoni slices
  • ¼ cup ground sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Veggie Pizza Pocket:
  • ¼ cup Ricotta
  • ½ cup sautéed spinach
  • ½ cup sautéed mushrooms
  • ¼ cup Mozzarella
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Directions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350˚F. Slice the crust off each slice of bread, roll flat with rolling pin, and set aside.
  2. 2. For 3 Cheese: Place 3 slices of bread on a nonstick baking tray and spread a tablespoon of marinara on each. Layer with Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese. Place a second slice of bread on top and pinch edges together using a fork. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. 3. For Meat Lovers: Place 3 slices of bread on a nonstick baking tray and spread a tablespoon of marinara on each. Layer with Mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and a little more Mozzarella. Place a second slice of bread on top and pinch edges together using a fork. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. 4. For Veggie: Place 3 slices of bread on a nonstick baking tray. Layer each bread slice with Ricotta, sautéed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and Mozzarella. Top with second slice of bread and pinch edges together using a fork. Mix together garlic and melted butter and brush on top. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
