Chopped Cheese Recipe
Made with Sara Lee Artesano Bread, this tempting sandwich has all the ingredients necessary to make it a new household favorite.

Ingredients
- 2 slices Sara Lee® Artesano™ Bakery Bread
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ cup onions, diced
- ½ cup banana peppers
- 4 ounces ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 3 slices Cheddar cheese
- 3 slices tomato
- ¼ cup shredded lettuce
Directions
- 1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add in onions and banana peppers and sauté until lightly browned (approximately 3-5 minutes). Add ground beef, garlic powder, salt and pepper and cook thoroughly (approximately 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.
- 2. Butter 1 side of each bread slice. Place both slices, butter side down in a medium skillet over medium heat. Let the bread toast until golden brown (approximately 1-2 minutes). Remove from heat and top one slice with meat mixture, Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and top with second slice of bread.
